Mourning in Ishwarganj  for Sajek road crash

 

Out of the nine people who died in the road accident in Sajek of Rangamati, the homes of five are in Ishwarganj upazila of Mymensingh. There are three of them from the same village. Earlier on Wednesday evening, the accident took place on the Sajek-Udaipur border road in the ninety-degree area of Sajek. 9 people were killed when the mini truck carrying workers lost control and fell into a 100-foot ravine. 8 more people were injured. Meanwhile, when the news of the deceased in the road accident reached the family, a shadow of grief descended on the area. Talking to the families and relatives of the victims, it is known that all those killed in the accident were construction workers.

The deceased were Ershadul (42) of Kanthal village of Barahit union of Ishwarganj upazila, Shah Alam (28) of Giridharpur village of Tarundia union, Tafazzal Hossain (21), Nayan Mia (20), Mohan Mia (16) of the same union. Meanwhile, going to the spot, it was seen that, the dead bodies did not reach the house, but the family is mourning. Not only that, such tragic news has also cast a shadow of mourning on the area. Hearing the news of the deceased, people from far and wide have been running since last night.

Chairman of Tarundia Union Parishad Hasan Mahmud Rana said- ' Out of 9 people who died in Sajek's accident, the houses of 5 people are in Ishwarganj. 4 of them are in my union. I am very saddened by this incident. Ishwarganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ariful Islam Prince

 said, 'I am very saddened to hear the news. Upazila administration and Upazila Parishad are already involved in the burial of the deceased,Tk5 thousand has been given to each family through the local UP chairmen. Apart from this, the family of the deceased will be given full support as per the rules.
